Project Description
Velcon Group was engaged by GJs Agency to undertake a comprehensive refurbishment of their existing tenancy in Crows Nest, with the objective of modernising the workspace, improving functionality, and accommodating the continued growth of the business.
The project commenced with the careful demolition and removal of several existing elements within the office, including the lounge area, the TV presentation screen wall, the store room, and the IT/communications area. These works were carried out to create a more open and flexible layout while preparing the space for the proposed redesign.
Following completion of the demolition phase, Velcon Group installed a custom sliding door track system designed to support a series of feature sliding screen doors. These doors were individually handcrafted on site by our experienced carpentry team and finished to complement the overall office aesthetic. The doors were designed to operate in a concertina-style configuration, allowing the space to be easily adapted for different uses. When closed, they provide acoustic and visual separation between the main office and team relaxation area and the newly created lounge and presentation space. When opened, they allow the areas to flow together, creating a larger collaborative environment for staff meetings, presentations, and team events.
As part of the reconfiguration works, Velcon Group also constructed new internal partition walls to establish a dedicated reception area, creating a more professional and welcoming arrival experience for clients and visitors. In addition, a new printing and stationery zone was incorporated into the layout, providing staff with a practical and centrally located resource area that enhances workplace efficiency.
To support the expansion of the GJs Agency team, existing workstations were carefully relocated and reconfigured throughout the tenancy. This enabled the installation of additional workstations, increasing staff capacity while maintaining a functional and comfortable working environment. The revised layout was designed to maximise available floor space and improve overall workplace collaboration.
To service the new office configuration, all required electrical and data infrastructure was upgraded and extended. New electrical cabling, power outlets, and data services were installed throughout the tenancy to ensure the workspace could effectively support the increased number of staff and evolving technology requirements. All services were coordinated to meet the operational needs of the growing business while maintaining a clean and professional finish.
General painting works were undertaken throughout the tenancy to refresh and modernise the appearance of the office. This included painting of internal walls, newly constructed partitions, and the entry stairwell, providing a consistent and revitalised aesthetic throughout the premises.
As a final component of the refurbishment, the existing polished timber flooring was repaired and restored. Areas affected by previous damage and alterations were made good to achieve a seamless finish, preserving the character of the original flooring while enhancing the overall presentation of the workspace.
The completed project successfully transformed the existing tenancy into a modern, flexible, and functional workplace that supports both the operational requirements and future growth of GJs Agency.
